Submission Guidelines

Authors are required to submit their manuscripts through the automated online submission system available on the journal’s website. The submission process involves:

User Registration

  • Authors must create an account on the YJPAS submission portal.
  • Registration requires full author details, including institutional affiliation, contact email, etc.

Manuscript Preparation

  • Manuscripts should follow the journal’s formatting guidelines (see Formatting and Style Guide below).
  • Submissions must be original and must not be under consideration elsewhere.
  • The manuscript should be uploaded as a Microsoft Word file (.doc or .docx).

Processing Fee Payment

  • A ₦5000 non-refundable manuscript processing fee is required for submissions from Nigeria.
  • Payments must be made using the automated online payment gateway before the manuscript is reviewed.

Editorial and Peer Review Process

  • All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening to check for compliance with submission guidelines and plagiarism detection.
  • Manuscripts that meet the journal’s standards are subjected to a double-blind peer review process involving at least two independent reviewers.
  • The final decision on manuscript acceptance or rejection is based strictly on reviewer feedback and editorial assessment.

Publication Fee Payment

  • Upon acceptance, a ₦15000 publication fee is required for Nigerian authors.
  • Payment is processed through the secure online payment gateway, ensuring a seamless and transparent transaction process.

Review Process

The double-blind peer review process ensures fairness, quality, and academic integrity. The process follows these steps:

Initial Screening

  • Manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using advanced detection software.
  • Submissions are assessed for adherence to journal guidelines.
  • Manuscripts that fail to meet basic requirements are returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright.

Reviewer Assignment

  • Manuscripts that pass the screening phase are assigned to two independent subject-matter experts for peer review.
  • Reviewers assess the originality, significance, methodology, clarity, and relevance of the work.

Editorial Decision

  • Based on reviewer feedback, the editorial board may:
  • Accept the manuscript as it is.
  • Request minor or major revisions.
  • Reject the manuscript.
  • Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within the stipulated timeframe for further evaluation.

Final Acceptance and Publication

  • Once a manuscript is accepted, authors must complete the publication fee payment.
  • Accepted manuscripts are formatted, assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier), and published online.

Manuscript Formatting and Style Guide

To ensure consistency and high publication standards, authors must adhere to the following formatting guidelines:

General Formatting

  • Manuscripts must be in English and typed in 12-point Times New Roman.
  • Use double spacing throughout.
  • A4-sized pages with 1-inch margins on all sides.
  • Maximum length: 12 pages (extra pages attract additional charges).

Manuscript Structure

Title Page

  • Concise yet descriptive title.
  • Full names of all authors (surname followed by initials).
  • Institutional affiliations and email addresses.
  • Corresponding author details (email and phone number).

Abstract

  • A structured summary of the research (maximum 250 words).
  • Key components: Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.

Keywords

  • Provide 4-6 keywords to facilitate indexing.

Introduction

  • Background information and study rationale.
  • Research objectives and significance.

Materials and Methods

  • Detailed explanation of study design, experimental procedures, and data analysis.

Results and Discussion

  • Presentation of findings using tables and figures.
  • Interpretation and comparison with previous research.

Conclusion and Recommendations

  • Summary of key findings.
  • Practical applications and future research directions.

Acknowledgments (Optional)

  • Recognition of funding sources, institutional support, or contributors.

References

  • Use APA citation style for in-text citations and the reference list.
